GREENLAND! Greenland!
Episode 9
Last night Adrienne and I were 2 of 1200 ‘worshippers’ jammed in to hear the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir.
They are fantastic and in Toronto again thanks to Soundstreams.
The first half was all Arvo Pärt in celebration of his 90th birthday.
The second half included the premiere of a piece by the Estonian Canadian composer Riho Esko Maimets, who took a bow with his baby on his shoulder.
The evening ended with the second encore – the choir singing a traditional Greenland folk song arranged by Poul Emborg. “Lullaby to Greenland.” You could say that it was sung in honour and in defence of our neighbouring country.
1200 cheers followed.

I got a tingly head just reading this from afar!
That’s beautiful 💕
